Protecting ones Intellectual Property Rights Internationally is of importance as it aims to provide legal security to the applicant/ innovator to exploit IP in those jurisdictions. This increased significance of Intellectual Property Rights at global level has taken place in almost all the countries of the world since knowledge is a tradable asset, disseminating and moving across the borders as IP right.

Each country has its own legislation, according to which the law and procedure for getting the grant of IPR protection differs. However, a several platforms for applying applications in different countries simultaneously are there. The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is one of such platform that allows filing application for prosecution of an IP in its member countries through a single application. It has established an accessible IP system, to provide services in terms of treaties and agreements to its 148 member countries.
